Chemical and Saline Injection Abortion Survivor

Growing up, Rosemarie “Rose” Fenchel never felt like she belonged, but wasn’t sure why. It wasn’t until her mother was 90 years old that Rose uncovered the secret that explained everything: Her mother, who was poor and desperate with five children already at home, had tried to abort her by taking 54 pills and 3 saline injections. Rose is an abortion survivor.

Over time, Rose and her mother both found healing, and Rose found belonging in the Abortion Survivors Network. As a Clinical Nutrition Manager/Dietician, Rose had already dedicated her career to respecting life at every stage. Today, Rose shares her story of survival and longing for belonging to encourage others to advocate for life and bring healing to those scarred by the trauma of abortion.

Rose is an Ambassador for the Abortion Survivors Network and co-leads More Than Sisters with her sister, Michele, who is also an abortion survivor. Rose lives in New Jersey with her husband, Eric.
