Former Abortionist
Dr. Haywood Robinson has always been driven by helping people live in the healthiest way possible. But when he
didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, he thought that serving others involved performing abortions. His
story shows how a relationship with Jesus and knowledge about the medical world can fundamentally change how
one views abortion.
During his residency, Dr. Robinson received abortion training while on the obstetrics and gynecology service. It was
at that time that he met Dr. Noreen Johnson, an OB/GYN resident, who was one of his many instructors who taught
him the abortion procedure. Discussion regarding the ethics of these procedures or instruction regarding
alternatives was not part of the training. Performing abortion requires so little effort, everyone was doing it, and
they didn’t seem to have a problem with it, so why should he? As the relationship between Drs. Robinson and
Johnson progressed, “moonlighting” together in abortion clinics became commonplace. Money became a mutual
motivator, especially since the pay was substantial and it was quite evident how abortion training could be
profitable. After completion of their respective residency programs the two were wed.
In 1986, Dr. Robinson came to a saving knowledge of Jesus the Christ and shortly thereafter Dr. Johnson once again
committed her life to the Lord. The two were convicted by God’s Word, which exposed the living lie they led as
hired killers of preborn children. They stopped performing abortions, but continued practicing medicine together
until Dr. Robinson retired from their practice in 2019 to serve as the Director of Medical Affairs and Education for
40 Days for Life. Dr. Johnson passed away in August 2021 due to complications from COVID. The book they
coauthored, The Scalpel and the Soul: Our Radical Transformation as Husband and Wife Abortion Doctors was
released posthumously in June 2023.
Dr. Robinson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the California Institute of Technology, followed by a
Medical Doctor degree at the University of California at Irvine, and a family practice residency at Martin Luther
King/Charles R. Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles. Since his salvation, Dr. Robinson has been a particularly loud
and powerful voice for the voiceless.
Dr. Haywood has found his true love and life partner, the former Daphne Harris Nicely, LAS, the Founder, President
& CEO of Journey of a Lifetime ad well as the Founding Executive Director of Atlanta Morning Center (ATLMC).
Together, Dr. and Mrs. Robinson collaborate and serve internationally in family, life, and pregnancy care ministry,
perinatal palliative care case management coordination, abortion recovery, and reconciliation ministry, as well as medical missions. These “pro-life warriors” have been given the moniker “The Dynamic Duo” and are in high demand – always on the move, speaking across the nation and around the globe and often joke that they live at the airport. In actuality, the Robinsons reside in East Central, Texas where they attend Aldersgate Church of the Brazos Valley. Collectively, they have 4 living children, 13 children that have preceded them in death, 5 bonus children, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Aficionados of music, dancing, travel, the culinary arts, and fine dining Dr. and Mrs. Robinson are ever on a quest to find the best burger and perfect pizza.
